They Don’t Tell You About the Sun

 
Hey, Paris is really terrific, don’t get us wrong. But the “City of Light”? Madrid would be a better candidate.

Walk around the Paseo de Recoltos, toward the Prado Museum, or anywhere around that whole area and you’ll find yourself absolutely enthralled, swept away in fact by the rows of bright tulips, open promenades and dazzling, dazzling sun.

Madrid is hip, cosmopolitan, and just drop-dead gorgeous. In fact, we blush to admit the first time we went from Madrid to Paris, we found ourselves feeling a little claustrophobic in Paris, and wishing we could cram some of Madrid’s sunny openness into the Right or Left Bank.

Madrid is beautiful. Seriously. We’re super-fans. The people are loud, boisterous, and know how to have a good time. Flamenco is magical and fun, and don’t even get us STARTED on the food.

And one final note: as in Paris, people know how to dress.
